💙 123 MEN. TWO PSA TESTING EVENTS. ONE VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE – EARLY DETECTION CAN SAVE LIVES! 💙 Yesterday, Elwy Hall in Rhyl was the setting for an incredibly successful day of prostate cancer awareness and health screening, with the North Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group organising TWO PSA Testing Sessions. 👏 MORNING SESSION – NORTH WALES FREEMASONS We welcomed 63 North Wales Freemasons, each with the opportunity to bring along a friend or family member, to benefit from a PSA blood test. Thanks to the generous support of the North Wales Freemasons Charity, the cost of each PSA test was subsidised from £26 to just £10 per person. In addition, attendees had the opportunity to access further health screening through the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust (GFCT) programme, with additional tests available for Iron, Cholesterol and Diabetes at £26 per test. 👏 AFTERNOON SESSION – MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC A further 60 members of the public attended our afternoon session, where the North Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group subsidised the cost of PSA testing from £26 to just £10 per person. 💙 THE RESULTS? An incredible 123 MEN TESTED IN JUST ONE DAY! The attendance was particularly encouraging, with just THREE NO-SHOWS, ONE CANCELLATION AND ONE DOUBLE BOOKING across the two sessions. A fantastic turnout and a real indication of the willingness of men across North Wales to take their health seriously! Even better, everyone who attended will have received their PSA test results today, allowing them to understand their results and take any appropriate next steps. 📸 A GLIMPSE OF THE DAY Our photographs show John Collister, Secretary of the North Wales Freemasons Charity, and Robbie Palmer having their PSA blood tests, both carried out by our phlebotomist, Sarah. A special thank you to John and Robbie for allowing us to share these photographs and help spread this important message. 🙏 A HUGE THANK YOU Our sincere thanks go to: 💙 The North Wales Freemasons Charity for their generous financial support. 💙 The North Wales Freemasons for their fantastic attendance and commitment to men's health. 💙 Everyone from the local community who came forward for testing. 💙 Elwy Hall for hosting us. 💙 The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust and our phlebotomist Sarah for providing the professional testing service. Most importantly, thank you to every single man who took the time to attend. Taking responsibility for your health is one of the most important decisions you can make. 📍 WANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU CAN GET TESTED? Further information about our PSA Testing Programme, including other testing events and venues across North Wales, can be found on our website. We are already planning further PSA Testing Events at locations throughout North Wales in the NEW YEAR, so keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for announcements. 🌐 www.nwpcsg.org 💙 PLEASE REMEMBER: PROSTATE CANCER DOESN'T ALWAYS GIVE YOU SYMPTOMS. YOU CAN FEEL PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND STILL HAVE PROSTATE CANCER. A PSA blood test could be the first step towards an earlier diagnosis and potentially saving your life. KNOW YOUR PSA. KNOW YOUR RISK. DON'T LEAVE IT TO CHANCE. 💙 Together, we really can make a difference.
